this is one of my favorite breakfast foods ever.  we started making dutch babies when the big kids were littles.

as we seek a healthier lifestyle (mostly…), i created these grain-free dutch babies with spiced blackberry and peach compote.
(click on recipe title to head to the link).

not long ago i shared them on our family blog.

while the dutch babies have been on the site for a while, the compote was just published today at allrecipes.com.  thought i’d celebrate by sharing with you all!  make them this week – you’ll thank me.  🙂

her laughter rings even now in my ears, and his eyes as he proudly holds his girl, years into marriage, inspires me to love more deeply, to lean hard into the hugs of my man.

her personal achievments encourage me to run more, to take care of me, better.

…and then night fell, and it seemed to get warmer, somehow.

somehow we left knowing we were the ones who’d had a date.  and we were sore from laughing till it hurt.

welcome!

when we dreamed of a session to celebrate the coming of not one, but two new babies to their family,

erin and i envisioned a session that was playful and real.  because we’ve created art for their home already, i knew that this crew values images that capture the heart of who they are as a family, and i was excited for the freedom to do that.

being with this crew is a privilege, because the commitment they have for each other and the obvious joy in each other’s company is relaxing and inspiring.

and oh, the silliness… thank you, matt and erin, for giving your permission for your kids to be kids… free and loving and fun.  🙂

i can’t WAIT to meet your new babies!  hugs.  -miss angela

her heart dances ever-forward to the time when she’ll soak in the wonder of creation.
she longs for the day when she can share God’s love with those in far-away-lands.

her one request (and she’s not asking much, mind you) was to play in a stream.  the light in her and on her are magical.

great things await you, sweet samantha.  thank you for trusting me to capture the beginning of your great journey.
hugs!!  -angela
